DIY Christmas snowflakes from ceiling tiles. New Year's stars from ceiling tiles! Airplane ceiling tiles

1:504 1:513

The New Year's mood either comes, or you can create a holiday atmosphere yourself. I would like the house to be decorated in an original way, so that guests will plunge into the bright world of your home and be imbued with your energy. This does not require special skills or means, just desire and a little imagination. Make these big stars and snowflakes and decorate your home with them!

It’s very easy to make beautiful New Year’s stars from cardboard! The main thing is a little diligence, patience, a lot of free time and the desire to make New Year's decor with your own hands!

2:338 2:347

3:851

Star making process:
We buy regular white cardboard that is not very thick (up to 270 g is enough).
Draw a star of arbitrary size 2 times. These will be our two halves of the star.

3:1181

Please note that the second half is cut out with POCKETS.

3:1303

I had 35 cm in diameter and meter ones.

3:1375 3:1384

The further algorithm of actions is as follows:
Cut out the stars along the outline.
Don't forget about the pockets on the second part.
Each part will need to be bent 2 times along the fold lines, the opposite ends A to B will be pulled along line C

In order for the cardboard to bend better and, most importantly, EVENLY, it must be lightly cut along the lines using a ruler and a stationery knife (i.e., draw a knife along the line and cut the top layer of paper). Practice on unnecessary pieces first

It will look like this on paper:

6:1126

7:1638

We make all the preparations at once.

7:52

8:556 8:565

Next, when all the parts are ready, we simply glue them together. We coat the pockets with glue and glue them to the second part. This is, of course, labor-intensive.... But use good glue. I use UHU universal glue. And that’s how I got them!

Then I threaded a fishing line through each star. And decorated the hall.

Large snowflakes for room decoration

12:91

To make a snowflake, you need paper. In our case, this is thick photo paper, which I happened to have. It is ideal for work as it holds its shape and is painted in two colors. But you can use other materials - for example, magazine sheets, unnecessary book pages... True, they will require ten layers.

13:1210 13:1219

14:1723

14:8

First of all, we cut a strip 25 cm long and of arbitrary width. In our case it is 2 cm.

14:170

Then two strips of 24 cm and two strips of 23 cm.

14:248

This will be one fragment of a snowflake, and four such fragments will be required.

14:384 14:393

15:897 15:906

We fix the longest part with glue, bending it in half. We apply the rest to the main one, leaving half a centimeter at the bottom for ease of fixation to the central circle.

15:1212 15:1221

16:1725

16:8

17:512 17:521

After the four parts are ready, we twist the roll, it will serve as the center.

17:677 17:686

18:1190 18:1199

We split the ends of the parts and glue them with a glue gun.

18:1337 18:1346

19:1850 19:8

20:512 20:521

21:1025 21:1034

It is important to accurately measure all the strips and cut them evenly, since deviation from the size threatens that the snowflake will turn out disproportionate, twisted diagonally, or of different thickness.
We decorate the center with a bead or tinsel, or cover it with gold paint or glitter. The size of the snowflake is within 25 cm.

21:1609

21:8 22:512 22:521

You can hang it anywhere: on a chandelier, or on a door, instead of a Christmas wreath (the snowflake is ours, after all). If you cover it with a layer of varnish, you can decorate a Christmas tree outside - it seems that the paper is short-lived, but such a snowflake will last for several years.

Master class on making a “Snowflake” box from ceiling tiles

Shchekoldin Vitaly Nikiforovich, additional education teacher
Place of work: MBOU DO "Educational Technical Center", Rostov region, Tarasovsky village
Description of work: This master class will be useful for children from 10 to 15 years old, teachers of additional education and all creative people.
Winter has come, snow has fallen, and silver snowflakes sparkle on it. With the appearance of snow comes joy, a feeling of fairy tale, magic. Despite their microscopic size, snowflakes have a very unusual structure. And for people involved in creativity, they are a limitless source of inspiration!
Wilson Bentley, an American photographer, was the first to photograph snowflakes. He did this for 46 years, took about 5,000 photographs of snowflakes, and in 1931 included reproductions of snowflakes in a collection of 2,000 photographs. Here are some of them:
Such beautiful photographs marked the beginning of the creation of the “Snowflake” collection of boxes, and polystyrene foam, a lightweight, flexible, modern material, made it possible to reveal the variety of shapes of snowflakes. We invite you to make a holiday box “Snowflake” with your own hands!

Goal of the work: learn how to make a holiday box “Snowflake” using polystyrene foam.
Tasks:
- master the technique of working with foam plastic (learn to give foam plastic the desired shape);
- achieve product functionality;
- find out how color design affects the perception of a product;
- develop creative and design skills.
Materials and tools used: ceiling tiles (foam plastic), decal glue, acrylic paints, ruler, scissors, device for processing ceiling tiles, templates, pins, awl.

To make the base of the box you will need the following templates (all dimensions are given in mm):

Next, the resulting templates must be transferred to foam plastic, placing the parts as close to each other as possible so that there is no waste of material. The outlined parts can be cut out with a stationery knife and scissors. After this, the round parts should be ground with sandpaper to give an even shape. Then you can begin assembling the parts of the box.

Casket body

We begin assembling the box by making the body. To do this, attach the side wall of the box using deco glue and pins to the side of the round bottom.
A little secret: polystyrene foam has two surfaces: front and back. The front surface is more flexible and durable than the back; when the side wall is rounded, no kinks are formed on the front surface, so it is external.
It is necessary to ensure that the edge of the bottom and side wall coincide. If necessary, the inner wall of the case can be reinforced with paper or cardboard.

Box lid

When the body of the box is ready, we move on to the lid. The first stage of its manufacture is painting the round base of the lid. In this case, we used red acrylic paints; if desired, the color can be changed to any other. Acrylic holds color for a long time, is waterproof, and adheres well to foam.
The lid is made as follows: to the painted round part of the lid we attach a “side” - the side part of the lid - with deco glue. In this case, the “side” should be 5 mm higher than the round part. This is done for the convenience of laying out the ornament on the lid: it is necessary that the level of the ornament and the side part coincide. As with assembling the case, the lid parts are secured with pins.

Then you need to make a handle for the lid. To do this, you need to make 4 circles with a diameter of 13 mm and one square with a side of 20 mm. We glue a square into the center of the round base of the lid, glue three circles together with deco glue, and in the middle of the glued “handle” we place a round stick sharpened at both ends and secure it with deco glue.

Using an awl, we make a small hole in the center of the bottom of the lid, and place our “handle” on a stick there:

Now you should secure the handle on the back of the lid: we pin the fourth remaining circle onto the stick, securing it with deco glue on the lid of the box. It looks like this:

Box ornament

We move on to the most interesting and important stage in the manufacture of the product - the design of the lid of the box. The ornament is based on circles carved using the author’s device for processing foam plastic.
To create a tool, you need sandpaper, a round stick, pre-sharpened on one side, and deco glue.
Dimensions:
stick length - 100 mm;
stick diameter - 10 mm;
sandpaper length - 50 mm;
sandpaper width - 31 mm.

When the parts of the tool are ready, we proceed to gluing the sandpaper, wrapping it around the stick.

The tool is ready!

Turning occurs like this: using the sharp end of a stick on a circle or square, we determine the middle and make a small hole. Then, using the other end of the device, we carefully “drill” a hole in the foam to the diameter indicated in the templates:

Bright colors in the design of the lid add contrast and highlight the ornament; restrained shades create an overall gentle perception of the product, so the choice of color depends on the intended image of the box.
You should lay out the ornament, moving from the handle to the edge of the lid. The process is done step by step like this:

You should ensure that the foam does not shift, only then will you get a beautiful symmetrical composition. At the end of the work you should get a picture like this:

The box is ready! Experiment with color and lid pattern, and you will see how many different gifts you can make for your loved ones.

I've been very interested lately production of group design elements from ceiling tiles, covering them with a mixture of gouache and PVA glue.

This experience was useful to me when registration music hall for festive events.

In my master class I want to tell you the technology manufacturing.

We will need:

- ceiling tiles(not foam);

Simple pencil;

Stationery knife;

Paint brush;

PVA glue;

A jar for mixing paint and glue;

- tile adhesive.

To begin with, I choose a drawing that suits me (coloring book).

I enlarge the image to the desired size. I use the method of drawing by cells, familiar to me since childhood.

Then I transfer the drawing to tiles, considering elements, which will protrude, creating a kind of multi-layering.

After everything elements are transferred to tiles, I cut them out using a utility knife.

I mix the desired paint with PVA glue in the ratio 1 :1 (you can add a little water if necessary). You should have the consistency of liquid sour cream. I color everything elements.

After complete drying, I assemble them together using tile adhesive.

Data elements served me well registration by September 1. The height was about 150 cm.

Publications on the topic:

Master class on making a sun from foam ceiling tiles. I present to you a master class on making a sun from foam plastic.

"Kite" from ceiling tiles. Master Class. Good day, dear colleagues! It's winter now and it's minus twenty-eight outside.

In anticipation of the New Year, we continue to come up with decorations for the home. For work, prepare: ceiling tiles, a stationery knife, a simple one.

Leaf fall, leaf fall, Yellow leaves are flying. Yellow maple, yellow beech, Yellow circle of the sun in the sky. Yellow yard, yellow house. The whole earth is yellow all around.

Ceiling tiles are an excellent material for creativity. It is easy to cut, can be painted and adheres well. Having assessed the qualities and capabilities.

In a kindergarten group, the spatial developing environment needs to be constantly updated. I have been using ceiling tiles in my work for a long time.

New Year is the most beloved and most colorful holiday; people in our country prepare for it in advance: they decorate houses, streets, and cities. And, it is no coincidence that the symbol of winter and the approach of the New Year is a snowflake. This is one of the most popular decorations on the eve of the New Year, from which snowflakes are made, from paper to metal. We suggest making 3D foam snowflakes.

Our three-dimensional snowflakes consist of six parts.

Let's take a thick piece of foam plastic, cut out the part shown in the figure from it, then cut it lengthwise into six plates. At the base of each part, we make a cut on both sides so that an angle equal to 60 degrees is formed (60° × 6 = 360°).

If you only have thin sheets of foam plastic (for example: ceiling tiles), then assemble a package of six sheets, secure it with tape so that the sheets do not unravel, and cut out the profile of the edge of the snowflake.

It is convenient to use thermal cutters for foam as a cutting tool.
To glue snowflakes we use a glue gun. We will glue two parts at a time in order to connect them together later.

When working with a glue gun, you need to pay attention to the temperature of the molten polyurethane so that it does not melt the foam. Foam parts are very fragile, so you need to handle them carefully so as not to break them.
Styrofoam snowflakes can be made in a variety of sizes from small to huge.

Everyone knows that the profession of a builder and finisher is respected, vital and considered, although difficult, but profitable. Without builders and finishers there will be no home, no comfort in the house. And, like any profession, construction workers have their own professional holiday. Of course, they celebrate the New Year together with the whole world, but they bring their own Christmas trees. 😉

I suggest you admire one of these construction Christmas trees, which was made from improvised materials left over after finishing the ceiling. The Christmas tree is low-budget and won’t break your pocket, so if you’re looking for an interesting creative idea to bring to life for the New Year, then take a closer look at this original decorative element. Here and now you will find out what it is like in moments of leisure.>>>

This copy was made with gold pens Olga Malinovskaya (Melnik) without glue or nails, from almost nothing. Only one ceiling tile was used. To repeat the decorative New Year's idea, you will need dense ceiling tiles, uniform in composition when cut. You can take a structural one, or without embossing. As the author notes (presumably this was not the only instance of the snow-covered beauty), if there is a pattern on the tile, then a single-color tile with an imitation of frosty patterns that can be found on glass in frosty conditions will look beautiful.

The tiles are cut out like a puzzle from one sheet, and the parts are joined together “groove to groove” with absolutely no glue. By the way, not all ceiling tiles can withstand the effects of glue. Foam tiles, for example, melt on contact with certain adhesives (tested personally).

When cut correctly, one tile produces three parts. If convenient, you can use this template:

True, you will have to copy from the screen, or make your own patterns, since the author did not make a pattern or does not provide one. It is also noted that the photo distorts the real picture. It is also worth considering a small nuance! If the tile is one-color, then there is no need to worry, but if it is colored, then when cutting the last, third side of the tree, you will need to turn the pattern over to the other side, because 2 sides are the same, and one has the outline in a mirror image. Of course, you only need to draw and cut from the inside out.

Olga made the decoration in the form of gold “” on the Christmas tree from strips of isolon. The stripes are narrower on one side and wider on the other, eventually narrowing to nothing. You need to start twisting the “cones” from the wider edge into a spiral. The “cones” twisted in this way (or maybe it’s even better to call them “roses”) are then attached with an ordinary tailor’s needle-pin to a decorative crown of ceiling tiles. The crown is made in the same way. Jewelry can also be secured using tailor's pins. The author hung her old beads on the stylish beauty, and you must agree, everything looks very pretty!

So the builders not only have their own holiday, but also their own professional Christmas tree. In principle, repeating a decorative idea is not difficult, if only you had the desire and the right ceiling tiles! 😉 I don’t recommend taking cheap polystyrene tiles, as they are very difficult to cut evenly; they crumble right under the knife.

Thank you very much Olga Malinovskaya for such a wonderful idea and permission to share the news on other blogs. When quoting, please indicate the author's name! And of course, an open hyperlink to the site from which you are quoting is required.

Well, friends, what do you think of the idea? Who has already run for the tiles? 😉 You can freely write your opinion in the comments, because you don’t need to register for this at all!

Have a nice time and successful implementation of decorative ideas from the site and, of course, Happy New Year!
