State Institute economics, finance, law and technology is an autonomous educational institution higher education Leningrad region (license for the right to conduct educational activities 90Л01 No. 0009007, registration No. 1975 dated March 1, 2016, certificate of state accreditation series 90A01 No. 0002080, registration No. 1983 dated June 6, 2016). The Institute was founded in 1996 by order of the Government of the Leningrad Region and until 2009 it was called the Leningrad Regional Institute of Economics and Finance - “LOIEF”.

Since 2001, the State Institute of Economics, Finance, Law and Technology has been developing a mechanism for integrating multi-level educational institutions. Today, 9 faculties function in the State Institute of Economics and Technology: 5 faculties train specialists of higher vocational education; At 4 faculties they study in secondary vocational education programs.

The university has 15 departments staffed by highly qualified teaching staff (73% of teachers have academic degrees and titles). Since 2003, the State Institute of Economics and Technology has opened a postgraduate course in the specialty 080005 Economics and management of the national economy. Since 2010, a dissertation council has been successfully operating at the State Institute of Physics and Technology. The main task of the institute (mission) is training of specialists high level for all educational programs taking into account the requirements of the labor market, through the introduction of new teaching technologies; development of social partnership with employers; improving the quality management system.

Since February 2008, by decision Russian Academy Education SIEFPT as the first autonomous university in Russia is the basis for conducting the federal experiment “Formation of an intra-university organizational and economic mechanism for the functioning of an autonomous educational institution of higher education and monitoring its activities for 2008 - 2012.” The Russian Academy of Education also included the State Institute of Economics and Technology in the international experiment “Rating assessment of the economic performance of the quality of training of specialists in the vocational education system and the influence of higher education on the innovative development of the region.”

In 2008, the State Institute of Economics and Technology became a laureate of the Leningrad Region Government Award for Quality; in 2009 and 2011, it was among the leading educational institutions in Russia and included in the National Register “Leading Educational Institutions of Russia - 2009” and “Leading Educational Institutions of Russia - 2010”. Full-scale implementation and continuous improvement The quality management system for training specialists was recognized by the decision of the Academic Council as a priority task of the university. Based on the priority task of the university, in December 2011 the quality management system of the State Institute of Economics and Technology was certified for compliance with the requirements of GOST R ISO 9001-2011 (ISO 9001:2011) in relation to the conduct of scientific and educational activities under programs of pre-university, higher, postgraduate, additional professional education and editorial and publishing activities.

Serious research work is being carried out at the State Institute of Economics and Technology; scientific and practical research into the mechanisms of integration of educational institutions and knowledge management in the field of higher education is of an innovative nature. The effectiveness of research work is confirmed by a sufficient number of educational, methodological and scientific publications, participation in scientific conferences. The Editorial and Publishing Department (EPD), which is a structural division of the institute, whose purpose is to carry out the publishing functions of the university at a professional level, operates successfully at the State Institute of Economics and Technology.

Since 2007, the GIEFF Publishing House has been publishing the “Journal of Legal and Economic Research”, established by the university, an all-Russian scientific periodical with subscribers in many regions of the Russian Federation. This is a peer-reviewed journal, which is included in the list of Higher Attestation Commissions, the RSCI system and the main RUNEL database. At the State Institute of Economics and Technology, talented students are provided with ample opportunities to engage in research activities. A student scientific society has been created at the institute, the purpose of which is to activate the scientific creativity of young people. The result of this educational policy of the university is the annual victories of GIEPT students at all-Russian, interregional and international olympiads and competitions (for students and young scientists). Behind last years more than 100 students of the institute became winners and prize-winners of the most prestigious and famous student olympiads and competitions: interuniversity, interregional, all-Russian, international.

As part of the agreement between SIEFPT and the Committee on Labor and Employment of the Leningrad Region, a sectoral youth labor exchange was created on the basis of the institute. In the field of international cooperation, the State Institute of Economics and Technology has signed long-term partnership agreements with the Laurea University of Applied Sciences and the Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences (Finland). Thanks to this cooperation, students of the institute have the opportunity to listen to lectures by specialists from Finnish universities, as well as receive education abroad. Graduates of the State Institute of Economics and Technology occupy key positions at enterprises in the Leningrad region and successfully develop their own businesses. Story

The Leningrad Regional Institute of Economics and Finance was formed in 1996 by decree of the Government of the Leningrad Region and is financed from the regional budget.

In 2008, the institute was awarded the Leningrad Region Government Prize for Quality.

On November 2, 2009, the institute received a new name: AOU VPO LO “State Institute of Economics, Finance, Law and Technology” (SIEFPT).

Postgraduate studies at HIEFPT are integral part a unified system of continuous education and the level of postgraduate professional education. Training of specialists is carried out in the specialty 08.00.05 – “Economics and management of the national economy”. The institute has a dissertation council. It is necessary to note the participation of some teachers of the State Institute of Economics and Technology in the implementation of scientific projects carried out by other universities and research institutes of St. Petersburg. The results of research work are used by teachers in the educational process when preparing teaching aids and collections of practical tasks, development and updating academic disciplines, writing monographs, lecture texts, as well as when choosing directions for dissertation research.
