This is how it turned out to be a walk through some of the central venues of the Journey to Christmas festival. Don't sit at home, go for a walk. In the evening Moscow turns into a fairy tale

It never sleeps, people scurry back and forth every day, and tourists never tire of admiring the beauty of the capital of Russia. However, for the New Year the city will be decorated additionally, this happens every time, but the administration is always coming up with something new, so when Moscow is decorated for , exactly how the capital will be transformed is still unknown.

Every year, the plan for decorating the main city of Russia is approved by the administration so as not to be repeated. Of course, the main attributes - Christmas trees, images of the symbol of the new year, the date - everything will be there, but how they will decorate it, in what colors, what exactly will be installed besides this remains a mystery. However, people are also concerned about the beginning of the registration process. After all, decorating the vast city of Moscow is a long and tedious task; it will probably take more than one day. Moreover, the administration’s plans are most likely truly Napoleonic. Just remember what the city looked like last year.

Light magic

When people first saw the play of light, it seemed to them that the room was magically filled with amazing colors. Simple glass painted with different colors could transmit the sun's rays and be reflected on the floor of the room in multi-colored spots, creating an amazing effect. And this is ordinary glass! Similar mosaic technology began to be used in the design of windows in churches and houses of rich people two or three centuries ago.

What can we say about the magic of electric light, independent of the weather and time of day? When they decorate Moscow for the New Year 2017, they will undoubtedly use LED technology, thanks to which the capital will sparkle with new colors when darkness falls. Graphic artists and designers are already working on new city design projects.

The administration requires each establishment (shops, trading houses, stalls, firms) whose windows overlook the roadway to participate in the festive decoration of their hometown. This is not even a fault, but a pleasant duty, an opportunity to contribute to the creation of a magical picture. beautiful garlands, attach bright stickers and perhaps put a Christmas wreath on the door. After all New Year concerns all residents of the country, all Muscovites. And they are curious when the transformation will begin and what exactly it will become.

Snow has already fallen in the capital, creating a festive atmosphere; here the winter is classic, harsh, with snowdrifts, cold winds and heavy snowfall. Therefore, if you want to celebrate the New Year like in a movie against the backdrop of beautiful snowflakes, you don’t need to invent something - people just need to go outside.

It is already known that only 62 Christmas trees will be installed in the capital, the height varies from 11 to 27 meters. They will be classic or cone-shaped, there will be 14 beautiful light fountains, 63 thousand hanging toys. When Moscow is decorated for the New Year 2017, it will look like a fairy-tale city, which, with sunset, will appear like the Emerald City in a new light.

Various LED compositions, bright, giant figures of the main winter characters - Father Frost and the Snow Maiden, various snowmen, of course the Fire Rooster and other animals. There will be designs in the shape of large candles. This is not counting the multi-colored garlands, thanks to which it seems that the trees have luminous branches. The mayor's office has already announced that the preparations will take place under a new motto, where Moscow strives to become the best winter city.

The most beautiful places in Moscow

Of course, the city squares will be decorated more carefully, or rather, more characters will be installed on them. Pedestrian areas will be well illuminated: this is Tverskaya Square, then Tverskoy Proezd and Stoleshnikov and Kamergersky lanes, Nikolskaya and Bolshaya Dmitrovka streets, as well as Kuznetsky Most. Tourists should definitely come to Moscow to celebrate the coming New Year. Streets in festive illumination, beautifully decorated pedestrian areas. Various theatrical performances and music programs will be held openly in the squares.

When Moscow is decorated for the New Year 2017, Rozhdestvenka will look more like a tropical island, and Kuznetsovy Bridge will receive new technical structures. Fountains will boast beautiful lighting, especially in squares and major streets of the city; the facades of buildings facing Tverskaya Square will be illuminated with new lights.

Of course, it will be very beautiful on Red Square, so beloved by tourists and ordinary guests of the capital. This historical place has long been the hallmark of Moscow, but there is something to see in the city even without it, especially in December. So far, the preparations are not particularly visible; they are still at the stage of plans on paper and in computer programs.

Somewhere by mid-December, new snow trees will be installed; they have already delighted Muscovites over the past holidays with their shape. They represent tall structures, consisting of multi-colored light bulbs made like a Christmas tree, but inside there is a snowman. It’s as if he got tangled up in the garlands or accidentally got caught inside the Christmas tree. It's interesting to see how new design ideas emerge over time. These include Christmas trees made using the spiral technique, huge spruce trees in the shape of a half-cone, which are usually installed near the city hall.

When Moscow is decorated for the New Year 2017, for example, the festive illumination on city streets will be completed by December 10th. By that time, the construction of ice skating rinks, the arrangement of places for New Year's fairs and other street entertainment available to everyone will be completed. Various luminous figures, dropped ceilings in the form of multi-colored garlands and balls.
The beginning of the process of decorating the city, the date of the holidays and everything else related to the upcoming New Year can be viewed on the city hall website.

And the frost is not terrible!

Yes, indeed the climate in Russia is quite harsh, winter lasts 4-5 months and the temperature sometimes drops to -40. however, this has never stopped people from celebrating their main holiday of the year - New Year. And Moscow, shining with colorful lights, is always happy to see everyone and share the fun with them. After all, there is one holiday for everyone, and trying to turn the city into a fairy-tale world, the administration tries first of all for the residents of the capital, to please them.

As usual, there will be loud concerts in the squares, cheerful crowds of people celebrating will shout

The New Year is left... Many have begun counting down to the upcoming winter holidays. And in the capital's mayor's office they compiled an album of New Year's decorations for streets and squares in advance. Although it’s only mid-November, you can already see what and how winter Moscow will be decorated with.

THE HIGHEST FIRE WILL BE PUT IN LUBYANKA

Christmas trees will “grow” throughout the city - artificial ones 16 - 20 meters high and live ones 3 - 10 meters high. In total, there will be 68 of them in the center and districts. Of these: on the streets - 35 and additionally at Christmas markets - 33. Light and frosted balls of red, orange, gold, silver, purple and blue colors, decorations in the form of toys, candies will be hung everywhere and firecrackers.

The tallest Christmas tree - about 30 meters - will be placed in the center of Lubyanka Square. And the smallest ones - up to 10 meters - are at the sites of the Journey to Christmas festival. The decoration of each Christmas tree will be original. For example, on Volkhonka, near the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, a fluffy tree 18 meters high will be decorated with flying angels. On Krasnaya Presnya, near the entrance to the zoo, a 16-meter high Christmas tree will be decorated like the Kremlin tower - with chimes and a ruby star on the top. On Vozdvizhenka, Novy Arbat and Trubnaya Square, New Year's trees will simply shimmer with thousands of golden and blue sparkles.

More than 20 Christmas trees will be supplied by sponsors - private entrepreneurs and companies. These green beauties will end up on a podium - a special platform that will slowly spin the tree around its axis. Such Christmas trees will appear, for example, on the square of the Kievsky Station, on Pushkinskaya and Triumfalnaya squares, near the oceanarium at VDNKh.

Christmas trees 14.5 meters high and named “Narodnaya” will appear in the districts. They will be decorated with mittens (on Marshal Zhukov Avenue and near the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve), felt boots (on Sokolnicheskaya Square and Kosygina Street), and orange slices (on 1st Novokuzminskaya Street, near the Moscow Children's Theater). A spruce tree with a sparkling firebird on the top will be placed on the central square of Zelenograd and on Academicheskaya Square in the city of Troitsk in New Moscow.

SANTA CLAUS WILL FLY FROM THE ARCH OF TRIUMPHAL ON A SLED

In addition to Christmas trees, one of the main decorations for the New Year will be illumination. Moreover, the city will be illuminated not only by ordinary garlands, but also by huge light compositions, figures and art installations.

The shining numbers of the year 2017 will be placed near Christmas markets and on the boulevards. Santa Claus will fly from the Arc de Triomphe on a sleigh with fantastic fiery horses.

On Tsvetnoy Boulevard, the Luna Park light composition with a carousel and balls will be lit every evening. The entrances to the Novoarbatsky Bridge will be decorated with huge bright balls with New Year’s wishes “Love and Happiness!”, “Health and Success!” On Tverskaya Street, at the intersection with Gazetny Lane, a light labyrinth of letters and chess pieces will be installed. And near the metro " Chistye Prudy"A multi-colored sparkling fairy-tale forest with a fox, an owl, fir trees and an arch will grow.

Electric fountains will be turned on on streets in the districts. Each of them will be 5 meters high and 9 - 12 meters wide. Multi-colored light streams will create fountains, for example, “Lotus” (on Fabrichnaya Square in the city of Troitsk in New Moscow), “Stars” (near the theater Russian army), "Astra" (on Leninsky Prospekt, between buildings 82 and 86).

WHAT ELSE WILL THEY DO

According to the Moscow government portal mos.ru, by the New Year, more than two thousand holiday posters with the number 2017 will be hung everywhere, of which about 800 are billboards measuring three by six meters. The main pattern will be in the Italian style - with white, blue and red lace patterns.

Video congratulations will be broadcast on the media facade of the Central Telegraph and on 40 giant screens.

Stickers and posters in the form of openwork Christmas tree balls and snowflakes in red, white and gold colors with the numbers 2017 will appear in store windows, on billboards along roads, on bridges and on building facades.

Light banners and “Starry Sky” street garlands will be hung above the roadways between the building facades.

At night, trees and bushes will be illuminated along roads, in parks and squares. To do this, the trunks and branches will be entangled with electric garlands and light grids. In some places, they will be illuminated from the ground by spotlights with multi-colored bulbs.
