Service

The sincerity and simplicity of priest John forced him to distribute his own salary to the needy, down to the penny. During sermons, he often cried, which did not always meet with the approval of the church authorities. He could come home barefoot, giving his boots to the poor. The saint did a lot for people:

Charity

Spiritual gifts inspired people to give generously. Father did not leave anything for himself - he built churches, founded convent. Every day he distributed money to the poor. Thanks to this, they could buy food and even pay for overnight accommodation. Although the saint never had his own money, many people passed through him. large amounts. He generously donated all these funds to those in need.

There were so many visitors that even abuses began. Some secretaries took money from those who wanted to get an appointment with Fr. John. The priest himself had little interest in money matters, turning all his thoughts to God. He got up before dawn, then held a service. Then visits began to those who needed it. Sometimes I didn’t even have 4 hours of sleep, taking confession until late at night.

Father left behind personal notes, from which it is clear that he treated himself very strictly. This is despite the fact that the Lord gave him the gift of clairvoyance and miracles. Although Fr. The priest's mercy was so great that some did not like it. Others, on the contrary, went to extremes and declared him the incarnation of Christ - soon the sect was dispersed, and its participants repented.
