The Tyumen State Medical Institute trains general practitioners and highly qualified pharmacists - pharmacists. For 10 years of existence of the institute there were 4 graduations of doctors and pharmacists.

Classes are taught by 279 teachers, including 14 doctors and 124 candidates of sciences. The institute has 44 departments.

The institute has a postgraduate course, a rich scientific library, a sports and recreation camp, and a boarding school for the indigenous peoples of the North.

Clinics of the institute are located on the basis of medical institutions of the city. This is where students do their internships. Student scientific society of the university - more than 900 students.

On the initiative of the institute, nine all-Union, republican, regional scientific conferences were held in Tyumen, in which scientists from many cities of the country took part.

The institute has developed amateur art activities and sports and recreational work.

I don’t like it because students without motivation force teachers to invest less effort in the education process. I do not want to think that the teachers themselves do not take their subject seriously, which makes students bored in the classroom.

But still, those who gave knowledge were remembered more, those who could not do this are slowly leaving memory, like what they taught :(

Studied and graduated in 1985. Tyumen.Gosud.med. institute. I have been working as a cardiologist for 33 years
and not how much there is a shadow of doubt and disappointment that I studied at this institute.

I studied there for a long time. And just at my graduation, rehearsal exams were canceled (that is, before the lyceum exams were equated with entrance exams). I myself graduated from VGMA (now it is TGMA). In the lyceum, they give a good base in chemistry and biology!

I studied in this institution from 1999 to 2005, then an internship for a year and I am a doctor! I prepared for exams for 2 years, teachers came to courses in Surgut and taught chemistry, biology, literature, Russian language in their free time from school. At the end, exams were held, according to the results, 4 out of 60 people entered the budget, including me. Dad always dreamed that I would be a doctor, and now his dream came true)) But my dream was not like that. Therefore, when I arrived in Tyumen, I was not happy. But somehow the Medical Academy attracted me. Despite the fact that studying in medicine is very difficult, we found time for fun. Here I found many friends, considering that I had no relatives or acquaintances in Tyumen, then the Medical Academy became my home. Learning is hard, very hard. Give me a second chance, I would choose the Medical Academy)) I remember anatomy, the most difficult of subjects, if you know anatomy, then even if you are not a doctor, you will know how to recover from this or that disease. It is convenient that all the buildings were in the same area. But there was a minus, there was no dining room! There was a mini cafe with 3-4 tables and there was always a queue. But now it has appeared, and I am happy for these students)) Education is worthy, teachers of the highest category and very smart. I'll be back soon to improve my skills and remember my student days!!!

He graduated from this university with a degree in Dentistry. When I was a student, it constantly seemed that it was better in other universities. BUT only now I understand how good the university gave me a start in life. I sincerely love Tyumen State Medical University and want to say a huge THANK YOU to our teachers!!! Especially the most difficult departments: pharmacology, pathological physiology, topographic anatomy, normal anatomy, histology, biochemistry =) I will remember them for the rest of my life. Tyumen State medical University founded in 1963 as the Tyumen State Medical Institute. The first rector (from 1963 to 1970) was Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor E. A. Zhukov, who was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor for organizing the university.

On March 11, 2015, in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Tyumen State Medical Academy was renamed Tyumen State Medical University.

The university traces three generations of mentors-doctors of science, "grown" within the walls of the university. From the end of the 60s to the present, they have trained 800 candidates of science and about 200 doctors of science - not only for the Tyumen State Medical University, but also for other universities in the country and practical healthcare.

Today, Tyumen Medical University occupies a worthy place among the medical universities of the country, integrated into the international higher school and medical science.
