The Tyumen State Medical Institute trains general practitioners and highly qualified pharmacists - pharmacists. Over the 10 years of the institute’s existence, there were 4 graduations of doctors and pharmacists.

Classes are taught by 279 teachers, including 14 doctors and 124 candidates of science. The institute has 44 departments.

The institute has a postgraduate course, a rich scientific library, a sports and recreational camp, and a boarding school for the indigenous peoples of the North.

The institute's clinics are located on the basis of the city's medical institutions. Here students undergo practical training. Student scientific society of the university - more than 900 students.

On the initiative of the Institute, nine all-Union, republican, and zonal scientific conferences were held in Tyumen, in which scientists from many cities of the country took part.

The institute has developed amateur artistic activities and sports and recreational work.

I don’t like it because students without motivation force teachers to invest less effort in the education process. I don’t want to think that the teachers themselves don’t take their subject seriously, which makes students bored in class.

I studied there a long time ago. And just at my graduation, the rehearsal exams were canceled (i.e. Previously, the lyceum exams were equal to the entrance exams). I myself graduated from VSMU (now it’s TSMU). The Lyceum provides a good foundation in chemistry and biology!

I studied at this institution from 1999 to 2005, then I did an internship for a year and I am a doctor! I prepared for the exams for 2 years, teachers came to courses in Surgut and taught chemistry, biology, literature, and Russian in their free time from school. At the end, exams were held, according to the results of which 4 out of 60 people entered the budget, including me. Dad always dreamed that I would be a doctor and now his dream came true)) But my dream was not like that. Therefore, when I arrived in Tyumen, I was not happy. But somehow the Med Academy attracted me. Despite the fact that medical school is very difficult, we found time to have fun. Here I found many friends, considering that I had no relatives or acquaintances in Tyumen, then the Medical Academy became my home. Studying is difficult, very difficult. Give me a second chance, I would choose the Medical Academy)) I remember anatomy, the most difficult of subjects, if you know anatomy, then even if you were not a doctor, you will know how to recover from this or that disease. It was convenient that all the buildings were located on the same territory. But there was a minus, there was no dining room! There was a mini cafe with 3-4 tables and there was always a line. But now it has appeared, and I am happy for these students)) The training is decent, the teachers are of the highest category and very smart. I'll be back soon for advanced training and remember my student days!!!

He graduated from this university with a degree in Dentistry. When I was a student, it always seemed that other universities were better. BUT only now I understand how good a university gave me a start in life. I sincerely love Tyumen State Medical University and I want to say a huge THANK YOU to our teachers!!! Especially the most complex departments: pharmacology, pathological physiology, topographic anatomy, normal anatomy, histology, biochemistry =) I will remember them for the rest of my life. Tyumen State medical University founded in 1963 as the Tyumen State Medical Institute. The first rector (from 1963 to 1970) was Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor E. A. Zhukov, who was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor for organizing the university.

On March 11, 2015, in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Tyumen State Medical Academy was renamed Tyumen State Medical University.

The university has three generations of mentors, doctors of science, “raised” within the walls of the university. From the late 60s to the present, they have trained 800 candidates of science and about 200 doctors of science - not only for the Tyumen State Medical University, but also for other universities in the country and practical healthcare.

Today, Tyumen Medical University occupies a worthy place among medical universities country, integrated into international higher education and medical science.

Higher professional education is implemented in 4 specialties (“General Medicine”, “Pediatrics”, “Pharmacy”, “Dentistry”) and one area of ​​training “Nursing” (bachelor’s degree). According to programs of additional professional education, about 6 thousand people are trained in 56 medical specialties during the academic year in cycles of advanced training and professional retraining. The education of civic-patriotic and spiritual-moral qualities among university students is carried out under the guidance of the department for educational and extracurricular work in close cooperation with departments, dean’s offices, the library and the university museum. The university has student and sports clubs.
